CPA Case Competition

Application Deadline: October 17, 2014, 11:59pm

 

CPA BC with CAA will be hosting the very first internal and regional CPA case competition. Winners of the internal case competition will compete against other local Universities in the CPA Case Competition Finals! This is a great opportunity to apply your skills to real-world problems while sharpening your presentation skills. Get your team's application in before the deadline!

There will be three rounds, as follows:

 

 

Round 1: Qualification 

 

  • Any BBA student may participate. The competition is not limited to accounting students.

  • Form a team of 3-4 students. Your team must have a reasonable balance of 1st or 2nd year students, and 3rd or 4th year students.

    • Please Note: If you would like to participate but do not have a group, email us your name and year of study and we will find a group for you! Contact us by clicking below.

  • Prepare your Team Application. The application package consists of:

    • The completed Team Application Form (link above).

    • Team Video (via YouTube): In the video (120 seconds max.), explain what your team hopes to gain by participating in this case competition and what makes your team a strong candidate. The more creative your response, the better!

    • Résumés from each team member (maximum one page per member).

  • Sumbit the Team Application. The above three components of the Team Application must be submitted to Anna Belyaeva at casecompetition@bccpa.ca by 11:59pm on Friday, October 17, 2014.

  • *IMPORTANT* In order for your application to be counted, please CC your submission to the Capilano Accounting Association at cbus.accounting.assocaition@gmail.com.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Round 2: Internal Case Competition  

 

  • The top 6 teams from the qualification round will compete at Capilano University on November 6th-8th, 2014.

  • Students will be given 48 hours to prepare a case analysis, recommendations and a PowerPoint presentation.

  • Presentations are 20 minutes in length, with a 10 minute Q&A period.

  • The winning team will be selected to compete in the final round of the CPA BC Case Competition.

 

Round 3: Final Round of CPA Case Copentition (Hosted by CPABC)

 

  • The competition will be held in February 2015. Further details will be released later.
